The Story Behind City Flats Hotel

Tuesday FEB. 9 - 7 PM

City Flats Hotel, 61 E. 7th St., Holland, MI

City Flats, opened in 2008, is Holland’s  most-well-known green building. Energysavings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction and stewardship of resources: all led to a gold-certification by the international LEED rating group. Charles Reid (above), president and co-owner of Charter House Innovations, also a Holland business, was the lead designer for the Hotel. Through his partnership in CHi Hospitality Land Co., Reid is also involved in management of the hotel. Reid’s is an industrial artist and a board member of the Holland-area Arts Council.

On Feb. 9 th, Reid will tell the story of how this hotel came to be and share his

vision of a greener design future. Free and open to public. Join us for the presentation and

discussion. First floor theater-room, City Flats. Sponsored by WEST.
